2017 - Annual Partnership Consultation Summary Report

The 2017 Annual Partnership Consultation was an introductory opportunity for WFP's Executive Director David Beasley to host NGO partners in Rome. In a change to previous formats, only partner CEOs or their deputies were in attendance, to ensure high-level policy conversations and a real opportunity for senior NGO leaders to understand the Executive Director's priorities and strategic direction for WFP. This year's APC focused on key issues arising from the Secretary General's Reform on repositioning the UN development system to deliver the 2030 Agenda and the implications for UN partnerships with NGOs. Another discussed topic was our collective approach in fighting famine, sharing lessons learned from the response to the Four Famine scenario, identifying the key barriers to early response and possible shifts by WFP and partners.
