The climate crisis is driving global hunger now and threatens to trigger catastrophic humanitarian needs. This set of products outlines WFP’s work to support communities to adapt to a changing climate.
In 2021, extreme weather contributed to most of the world’s food crises and was the primary cause of acute food insecurity in eight countries. If we do not limit global heating and support people in adapting to climate change, we will see destabilization, migration and starvation. Current humanitarian needs will seem small compared to the potential rise if the world fails to tackle this global emergency.
